इंटरनेट सर्च इंजन के आने से 40 साल पहले ही (1956 में) "Artificial Intelligence" शब्द का जन्म हो चुका था। वैज्ञानिक जॉन मैकार्थी ने एक कॉन्फ्रेंस के लिए पहली बार इस नाम का इस्तेमाल किया था। इसी वजह से शुरुआती इंटरनेट पर AI से जुड़ा सबसे पहला खोजी जाने वाला विषय खुद यह नाम ही था।

The term "Artificial Intelligence" was coined in 1956, a whole 40 years before modern internet search engines existed. Scientist John McCarthy first used this name for a conference. Because of this, the very first topic searched regarding AI on the early internet was the name itself.
