One Flag, Many Dreams
Respected Chief Guest, Respected Principal, respected teachers, dear parents, and my dear friends,
Good morning to everyone.
Look at our national flag.
It is one flag.
But under this one flag live millions of people.
People who speak different languages.
People who follow different traditions.
People who eat different food.
People who wear different clothes.
People who have different dreams.
And yet, we are one country.
That is the beauty of India.
India does not ask us to become the same.
India teaches us to live together despite our differences.
Our freedom struggle also brought people from different backgrounds together.
They did not all think alike.
They did not all come from the same place.
But they shared one dream—
A free India.
Today, we have that freedom.
But our responsibility is to protect the unity that makes our freedom meaningful.
Sometimes, we disagree with people.
That is normal.
Sometimes, we have different opinions.
That is also normal.
But disagreement should never become hatred.
We should never judge someone simply because they speak a different language, belong to a different community, or come from a different part of India.
Our differences should make us curious about one another, not afraid of one another.
When I see the Indian flag, I think about this unity.
One flag.
Many languages.
Many cultures.
Many dreams.
But one India.
And I believe that the India of the future will be strong not because everyone thinks alike, but because we learn to respect one another.
As students, we can begin right here in our school.
We can include the student who feels left out.
We can respect our classmates.
We can listen before judging.
We can help someone who needs support.
We can celebrate each other's achievements.
These small acts create unity.
And unity is not something we should talk about only on Independence Day.
It should be a part of our everyday lives.
Our freedom fighters gave us an independent India.
Now it is our responsibility to give the next generation a united, peaceful and confident India.
So, when we raise the national flag today, let us remember what it represents.
Not just a country.
Not just a history.
But a promise.
A promise that despite our differences, we will stand together.
One flag.
One nation.
Many dreams.
And one shared future.
